I have crocheted baby shoes for over a decade now. I used to sell them locally and via the internet. I LOVE crochet baby shoes, but like ALL other baby shoes – they fell off SO easily… #bummer. I started brainstorming how I could design a beautiful, yet also fully functional, baby shoe that I didn’t have to put back on 13,294 times each hour. After my 5th baby was born I came up with this pattern and successfully used it for each subsequent baby! I honestly don’t think my 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th child ever wore any other shoes for their first 1-1/2 of life. They are THAT good. So needless to say they have been quality tested!
While I used to offer finished products for sale of this item, I am now offering the PDF crochet pattern for these amazing booties! The sizes included in this pattern fit 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12. It is the perfect pattern for the crocheter that wants to sell the finished products at craft shoes, the mother who wants to make her baby something beautiful and functional or the person to wants to be able to show up with a handmade gift at a baby shower or christening.
This pattern is rated intermediate and doesn’t use any tricky stitches or fancy maneuvers. You will need WW yarn, a G hook and a yarn needle. Stitches needed are ch, slst, sc, hdc, dc, inc, dec, and crocheting in BLO, crocheting in the third loop of hdc, and crocheting in rounds and rows. Pattern written in US terms.
