DITL: “I’m not grumpy; I’m AWESOME!”

Posted on August 22, 2015May 1, 2018 by afarmhousefull

Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall in a large family home? Well, here is your chance! Now that the GoPro set up is here and I am playing around with it a bit more to figure it all out I thought I would try to post more regular “Day In The Life” vlogs. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in seeing on a more regular basis and how often (weekly, monthly, here and there?).  I absolutely love doing them because they are so fun to look back on. Life is such a blur sometimes with 7 curtain crawlers that it’s nice to freeze some moments in this very precious and fleeting time.

I love your videos I’ve been following you on YouTube for some time now, but I’ve just recently started looking at your blog. As far as the colors go I have 4 children my oldest is a 17 yr old boy (public schooled), a 15 yr old boy (HS), a 13 yr old girl (HS), and a 3 yr old boy who will be home schooled also. My youngest I’ve been having the same problem with which I actually just called my doctor and left a message about getting a referral to take him to the eye doctor because I’ve been really wondering if he is colored blind or maybe partially colored blind. It would seem to me like he was just guessing but as i really started practicing with him I’ve noticed that he really likes blue. He usually 9 times out of ten can “guess” blue correctly but when it comes to lighter colors he is always wrong. Plus he doesn’t even seem to care about what color things are which also made me wonder. I never had this problem with any of my other children and I don’t know if an eye doctor could even help me figure it out but so far I think it would make me feel a little better to just check everything anyway. I also suspect that he is hyperactive which may or may not be a variable. I take this as a motherhood lesson which just goes to show me that I will never know everything no matter how many children I have or for how long. If you come across any information please share, I would be really interested. God Bless

I find there are a few people that I watch every video they put out. You are one of them. I don’t have small children (31,24,21) but i have even watched some of your curriculum videos. Thank you for taking the time to post all these videos. You are a very busy mom but you take the time out for us and we love it. I look everyday for new ones. I love your attitude towards life and raising a large family. Keep up the good work with the children and the videos.

Love your videos! I have a question about your hair. Do you always wear it down? It seems like you do in all your videos. You always look so nice. I am a stay at home mom with 4 little ones; I would love to wear my hair down and look nice and “put together” but it drives me crazy when it gets in my face so most of the time it’s in a messy bun! Does having your hair down bother you or do you just have it down when you do your videos? Thanks!

I do wear it down a lot but always carry a hair tie or a clip on me so I can throw it up when needed (Sweeping floors, washing dishes, wearing babies).

Try using white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher tub and in the rinse compartment. This has seemed to help with ours. Also if you have a heat drying cycle don’t let that run!
